Christian Women Sharing Faith, Peace and Justice
The Bridgebuilders Network was established in March 1996, in Auckland, at the
Bridgebuilders Pacific Basin Consultation, by the National Executive of the
Association of Presbyterian Women, to celebrate 100 years of organized women's
work in the Presbyterian Church. Women leaders from sixteen countries
represented the Asia Pacific Region together with South Africa. These women
felt a definite need to establish a network of Presbyterian women and women of
associated churches to be called "Bridgebuilders". The Beijing Platform for
Action (1995) was one of the motivating factors.
Bridgebuilders Objectives:
To Advance Christian faith through prayer, witness and outreach
To Exchange information and resources
To join together in friendship and support
